Horse and rider at a show jumping event, South Wales

Horses move fast and don't take direction. Equestrian photography is about anticipation — knowing when the stride will land, when the ears will come forward, when the light catches the movement just right.

Shows & Competitions

Coverage of local and regional shows across South Wales and the valleys. The aim is the decisive moment — the peak of a jump, the extension of a stride, the split second where horse and rider are completely in sync. Shot ringside with long glass, staying out of the way.

Stable & Yard Portraits

Quieter work, away from the ring. Portraits of horses in their own environment — in the stable, at the gate, in the field at golden hour. These sessions are relaxed, unhurried, and shot to capture the personality of the animal and the relationship with their owner.

Action & Training

Not every session needs a rosette. Training days, schooling sessions, and everyday riding are worth documenting too. Useful for tracking progress, sharing on social media, or just having a good photograph of what you do every day.

Whether it's a competition, a yard visit, or a portrait session with your horse — I work around the animal, not the other way round. Patience and quiet come as standard.
